Singapore at 60: still the smartest experiment in the room.

Singapore is not just a city-state. It is a live experiment in intelligent design applied to everything from urban planning to economic policy. After nearly 15 years living here, I keep coming back to one question. What if more companies actually ran themselves the way Singapore runs itself?

Most places scale through brute force. Singapore iterates with intent. Where other nations wrestle with data privacy as an afterthought, it builds trust into the foundation. Where most businesses chase trends, it moves on signals. After nearly 15 years living here, I cannot read the place as a city-state anymore. It reads as an operating model, and a quietly radical one.

The essay walks through what I think Singapore gets right that companies routinely get wrong, and what the next 60 years of the experiment might ask of the operators who live and build here.
